Drake slept until 7:00 this morning! We were so impressed with our little man. He woke up one time in the night (around 4:00) and I just put his paci back in his mouth and he went back to sleep. I hope he isn't teasing us and tonight he'll only sleep 4 hours! Anyway, at 7:00 we got up and I fed him (he hadn't eaten since 7:45 last night), then we played in the living room. Here is a video of him this morning.
That boy loves his paci! And I love it when he makes those little noises.
Today is going to be a busy day. This morning I am going to a shower for Anna Hendrix. They are having a little boy....Micheal Lee. Then this afternoon we are all going to a Sunday School social out at the Hertzfeld farm. It should be a really fun afternoon and evening!
I need some advice from all you mothers out there!!
I have been working out for 2 weeks now and have hardly lost ANY weight! I don't know what to do! The other problem is...since I'm nursing I'm hungary ALL THE TIME! It's worse than when I was pregnant! I can tell that the working out is making me look smaller b/c I am getting more toned; but the weight just isn't coming off like I thought it would. What can I do??? HELP!

OMGOSH! He is soooo precious! I love his little cute face!! Congratulations on becoming a stay at home mommy. It is the hardest best job ever!! I LOVE it and feel so blessed to be able to take care of my little babies!! I am glad to hear you guys are doing great and getting out and about. After I had Lilly, finally getting out of the house and being able to go do things was awesome!! (We stayed in with her for 2 months--talk about stir crazy!) It was good to hear an update!
hi laura!! congrats on your sweet family!! he is so adorable!!! and it sounds like you guys are doing awesome...doesn't sleep make everything better?!?! do not worry about the weight thing...i promise it will come off!! i cannot tell you how hungry i always am when breastfeeding...i prol eat triple what i did when i was pregnant when i am breastfeeding. for a while, your body just hangs on to a little weight (especially when you are bfeeding) but then it will slowly come off...i promise!! i'm super impressed that you're already working out...way more ambitious than i ever was!! :)
not that i am like the poster child for weight loss...ha ha ha!! i just realized how tacky that comment could sound....goodness knows i've got TONS of pounds still to go! i was just trying to encourage you not to worry at all, cuz you look GREAT!!
Laura,
He is adorable! I know what you mean about the weight...I lost mine immediately-all except 6 lbs. that keeps hanging on! All I can say is that even though you're nursing (I am, too) try to eat healthy stuff instead of the fattening stuff. I'm sure you're probably already doing that, but remember your body needs an extra 500 calories a day to give to him. Just stick with it...it will come off eventually.
Don't stress Laura! It really will come off eventually. Your body stores fat while nursing and regardless of how much you work out and eat, you still will probably hang on to some of the weight for a few more months. I ate everything in sight this whole year while I nursed! Small, frequent meals seemed to help..like every 2 or 3 hours. I am sure you look great! Drake is adorable!
Laura, he is so cute!! I'm excited he slept through the night for you. That is when Micah started sleeping through the night, but I would give her a 10 o'clock bottle and then she would sleep all night. And that paci trick is awesome for when they wake up. About the weight, it will come off. All of mine came off in about four months but I sitll have five hanging on for dear life. I'm just now trying to take care of that. I'm off work wed and thurs so if you ever want to go to the park with the kids and walk, i would love it.
I'm glad to hear all these comments-b/c I've been so hungry and was thinking I was a pig, and now at least I know I'm not alone. :) About the weight, I've heard a lot of people say "nine months up, nine months down". I think that's really something to think about. Your body just did something pretty incredible, and it took 9 months to prep for it, and it would make sense if it took 9 to get back to "normal". I hope it doesn't take that long for me, of course, but maybe it would at least explain why it's not already gone. haha :)
Keep the pics and updates coming. Y'all are such a cute family!
